Seagate SkyHawk Surveillance 8TB 256MB 3.5" SATA HDD

What this part is

Purpose-built for 24/7 surveillance | Supports up to 64 HD camera streams | 8TB of high-capacity storage | ImagePerfect firmware for uninterrupted recording | 1 million hours MTBF reliability

The Seagate SkyHawk Surveillance 8TB HDD is built for security installers and system integrators who need a drive that can keep pace with the demands of continuous video recording. Engineered specifically for NVR and DVR environments, it supports simultaneous streams from up to 64 HD cameras without frame loss, thanks to ImagePerfect firmware that minimises interruptions during 24/7 operation. A maximum sustained transfer rate of 180 MB/s keeps footage flowing reliably, while built-in rotational vibration (RV) sensors maintain performance stability in multi-bay systems with up to 16 drive bays. With a workload rating of 180 TB per year, a mean time between failures of 1 million hours, and tarnish-resistant components that guard against environmental wear, this drive is designed for the long haul. SkyHawk Health Management adds an extra layer of assurance through prevention, intervention, and recovery tools — including RAID RapidRebuild for faster volume recovery. At 8TB capacity on a standard 3.5-inch SATA 6 Gb/s interface, it slots directly into existing surveillance infrastructure and delivers the dependable, high-capacity storage that serious security systems demand.

Features

ImagePerfect firmware ensures seamless, uninterrupted video capture across 24/7 workloads

Supports simultaneous HD streams from up to 64 cameras

Compatible with multi-bay systems of up to 16 drive bays, with built-in RV sensors for stability

Maximum sustained transfer rate of 180 MB/s for consistent video throughput

Workload rating of 180 TB per year for always-on surveillance environments

1 million hours MTBF and tarnish-resistant components for long-term field reliability

SkyHawk Health Management with RAID RapidRebuild for faster volume recovery

CMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording) recording technology for data integrity

Specifications

Capacity: 8TB

Form Factor: 3.5"

Interface: SATA 6Gb/s

Max Sustained Transfer Rate OD (MB/s): 180MB/s

Cache: 256MB

Workload Class: Surveillance

Load/Unload Cycles: 600, 000

Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) (hours): 1,000,000 hours

Product Dimensions: 14.7 x 10.1 x 2.6 cm

Product Weight: 630g

What's in the Box

Seagate SkyHawk Surveillance 8TB 256MB 3.5" SATA HDD x1
