An account here exists for one job: keep 5 parts under observation and tell you when something actually changes — a price fall measured against our own daily snapshots, a target you set being reached, or stock we can see returning. No newsletter sign-up dressed up as a feature.
We store your email, a salted hash of your password and what you watch. That is all this feature needs. Consent is timestamped so you can ask us what we have and when we got permission.
Alerts are evaluated once a day, straight after our own price capture, and each one names the part, the date it was raised and the two prices it compared. Four things raise one: a price fall, your target price being reached, a part coming back into stock, or a watched part dropping to low stock. Nothing fires from a third party’s feed and nothing fires from a guess.
The part you are watching is shown beside that: its current price, how far it has moved since you added it stated in rands, the compatibility verdict for your saved machine if there is one, and the stock state we measured — in stock with a quantity, low stock with a quantity left, on order, or not confirmed. You set the trigger per part under Alert me under, plus a separate tick box for restock.
Watching requires one, because a watchlist has to be stored somewhere. Everything else on this site works signed out, and it is worth trying before deciding whether the watchlist is useful to you:
No phone number is requested anywhere on this page, and the weekly digest is a box you tick — unticking it stops it.
